Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

OK. I'm from Arizona. It's not "real" Mexican food, but it does have fresh ingredients and basically makes "Mexican-inspired" food. It's good, but... If the Boss isn't there, the service SUCKS. It took 30 minutes for a burrito and 3 tacos to go. People were going in and out in front of my order. When I complained, I was told that some people had called in. When I pointed out that some had come in an ordered, they said that "maybe their order was easier to make and didn't need ingredients from the back". Excuses. I have 18 years in the Restaurant Business, and this place shows that people that work here are disorganized and going through their jobs at 1/2 speed. I guess that I would have better service if I hadn't ordered the "wrong thing". Want real Mexican food? There's a hole in the wall just down Mack that has the "real thing", for less cost and a LOT better service. I'm not going back for awhile, hopefully they'll get their staff issues worked out. If you go, the test kitchen stuff is fun, and they do a good job with the pork.

I went in today during lunch and it was busy, but not horrible 'in-the-weeds' busy, and it still took 25 minutes for one burrito. How is that possible? Oh, right. Teenage girls doing the preparing. Also? I ordered my burrito with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, cilantro and roasted tomato jalapeno salsa and the only thing that was on my burrito was shredded lettuce. Seriously. How is it possible to so monumentally mess up an order? I can understand forgetting one topping, but ALL but one???? It was written right on the check and double-checked with me before I cashed out. Beyond all that, the burrito really was disgusting and had an awful after taste. Yuck. I'm giving them two stars because my last burrito was actually very tasty (albeit service was still slow), so I'm hoping today was a fluke. It will be a very long time before grab lunch from here again. I'll drive the extra 15 minutes to Qdoba.

Good price, good quality. When ordering over the phone, make sure to order slowly and have them repeat it. Mistakes seem to be common... Add five to ten minutes to their slated ready time, usually they aren't ready when they say they are. But their meats are all good, not just generic stand-ins that could be easily interchanged. Ingredients are largely fresh. In the store they sell Purity juices which seems rare for GP.

Burrito Mundo is a small spot in Grosse Pointe that serves burritos as big as your head. Literally. These are some big ass burritos. I mean, not much different than Chipotle in terms of size but they're pretty big. And they'll serve you for two meals or two allow you to split with someone else quite nicely. Especially for the price. As others mentioned it's not exactly authentic Mexican but I'm cool with that as long as the food is tasty and fresh (as this is). This place is around the corner from my aunt's house so we've done take out there a few times when I've been over to hang out. The storefront is small so I wouldn't really be comfy eating in but for take out it's perfect. Mostly I really like the quesadillas. They're nothing groundbreaking but I love me some gooey cheese and grilled steak smashed between two tortillas. In the words of Ina Garten, "how good is that?" The rice and the beans are ok. I'll eat them if they're on my plate but I'll second Lorna D's assertion that they're pretty bland, especially the black beans. But I'm usually too full on cheesy goodness to really stress out about that!

  • Jimmy D.

Fresh ingredients and friendly staff make this a great choice if you're in the mood for some Mexican. There are many different choices for salsa and they are all made fresh daily by the cook in back. I'm looking forward to going back and getting the fish tacos

Had the steak quesadillas. They were just OK. Customer service is average. Probably won't return.

I like this place because it's the only place I can get a chorizo burrito around here. The price was high, but the burrito was pretty good. I just hated their building. It was small as all hell, I waited for 20 minutes for one burrito while shoulder to shoulder with some hot sweaty dude. Meanwhile, people were walking around next to people eating and bumping chairs and stuff. I dunno, I may go back someday if I'm craving a chorizo burritto.

Creative menu - chorizo sliders with pepper relish are fun and delicious. Fresh and flavorful ingredients. I've eaten here quite a few times and the quality is a bit inconsistent, otherwise I would give them 4 stars.

This is our go to local take out place. Menu is extensive and full of interesting burritos and salads. They have a ton of vegetarian options from salads to quesadillas and all of the burritos are vegetarian based - you just add your choice of meat. Portions are huge (I usually have enough left over for lunch the next day) so this place is GREAT value for your money. The food tastes great and it is always freshly prepared with fresh ingredients (no canned refried beans here!). And if you don't like their extensive menu of burritos, you can design your own!

I was thinking about lunch and I wanted Chipolte (or Q'doba) and those are 15-20 minutes from me (that's a waste of time) Then I remember reading about a similar place close by in Grosse Pointe Woods called Burrito Mundo. I looked at the reviews: above average to really good. That's all I need, I'm on my way. What I got: Maiz Burrito (corn themed) w/ Tomatillo Chipotle (muy caliente') The size of these burrito's are on par w/ Chipoltle & Q'doba: Big. I ordered from the phone so they had it ready, they presented me with what seemed like a very small bag but when I picked it up it was heavy and felt very substantial (that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!) The store inside smells like a seasoning I have in my cupbaord called "Cuban Smoke & Spice" The burrito has this flavor as well only it's more intense, fresh and striking. Someone panned Burrito Mundo in an earlier review that their burrito was cold, I have to say that mine was a bit cool as well but not to an extent that it ruined it, what would have increased the enjoyment of this burrito would have meant the grilled chicken, rice & beans to be heated a bit right before serving. I did notice that the chicken was moist & juicy and was thinking maybe if they kept heated chicken handy it would be dry, I guess there's a tradeoff. I would rather have lukewarm juicy chicken though, than hot dry chicken. Pros: Fresh, striking, interesting spice, flavors and variety in a Chipolte/Q'doba size package. Healthier choice than burgers. Local. I like the yellow tiling inside. They were working hard in there. Cons: Lukewarm burrito (to be fair I had cool items like Guac. and sour cream in it) Some pieces of rice were hard, some beans were not done soaking (but it made me think that the beans here are soaked in house not canned, good deal) Some thoughts: I'm glad this place is in my area, it's good and I don't have to drive out of my way to get my huge semi-healthy burrito fix. If they streamline their system for the people that work there they probably could be a competitive chain to Chipotle & Q'doba or at least improve their game. 3.75 Stars

Yep-it's Mexican "influenced" (a-la Janelle) and the menu descriptions are a bit extravagant. Interesting flavors, large portions, PILES of salt! Lake St. Clair lowered several inches as I guzzled away after my meal. Please lay off the salt-your food is flavorful without me shriveling up! The beans and rice were pretty bland, but I'd try it again.

Great food, well worth the price. The only down side is that the interior can get a little cramped when they're busy.

Disgusting. We love Mexican and were excited to see a take-out nearby...however we were sorely disappointed with the slop served that was called a burrito. Avoid at all costs. Flavor-less, cold, and over priced.

Burrito Mundo distinguishes itself by being the only Chipotle/Qdoba-esque establishment on Mack Ave., or in Grosse Pointe proper, for that matter. Thus, I was initially a bit leery of this place, with its monopoly on the market--all the moreso because of a past experience with some clueless servers. But after tonight, I am singing a new tune. Burrito Mundo is not merely an imitation of Chipotle or Qdoba. It is local; it has personable and efficient staff; it is unique, with an impressively large and appetizing menu; it offers tofu burritos. In short, it is superior. I'm a vegetarian and somewhat picky about my take-out, so I made one of those annoying-customer calls to the place, requesting a Veggie Mundo with no rice, no sour cream, extra veggies, and only a little bit of hot sauce. Oh, and a side of the plantains--which are, by the way, fried in vegetable oil; I checked. And, despite the fact that this was take-out, Burrito Mundo **delivered**. My burrito was jam-packed with a juicy, delicious vegetable medley (yes! they listened!), with just the right ratio of beans/guac/cheese. The plantains were admittedly little bland on their own, but clearly freshly made and divine with the accompanying cilantro-lime sauce. I also liked the tortilla--soft and fold-able, just how it should be! Dinner tonight was delicious. ^_^ Kudos to Burrito Mundo! I will be back!

You cannot quite call this Mexican food. It is not quite "fresh Mex" either. Yes, it is fresh and yes, it is Mexican-inspired, but there is a hint of gourmet sophistication to their dishes that sets it apart from its peers. You cannot compare it to the other Mexican restaurants on Mack or any other chain establishments, because BM prepares items that you will not find on any other menu. The fact that they use chorizo sausage sets them apart from any other Mexican-inspired restaurant around Metro Detoit. I won't bore you all with all the dishes I have tried here, but I have yet to be disappointed. As a lover of fresh-Mex and a bigger lover of creative adaptations of winning dishes, I will only say if you find yourself on the far east side and you have a jones for something different give this place a try

Best place in Metro Detroit for mexican. I absolutely love this place enough to ride my bike 20 miles to get there. Yet, I can afford their infamous burritos on my allowance. Very affordable. Young and old will never get tired of this place!

A coworker who lives in GP has been talking this place up for a long time. He thinks it's the best. I recently checked it out. First off, this is not Mexican cuisine, nothing Mexican about it except for the use of tortillas, but I found the food very tasty and the portion was generous. I took a burrito home and ate half of it, and a few hours later I had the other half for dinner. No complaints.

Today must have been my lucky day! We had a luncheon at work and WOW! what a surprise-it was good stuff! Unlike the usual pizza and salad, we were treated to catered Burrito Mundo. Wait! Burrito Whato? Was this the eastside version of Chitipole or Rio Wraps? Those were my initial thoughts. Then I saw the spread . . . The Chicken Fajita Ensalada was super fresh and tasty. I doubted the southwest ranch dressing, but I'm a convert now. I followed the salad with an Asado taco. Loaded with roasted peppers and tender steak, this was the best neuvo-mexican (I made that one up) taco I've had. It was, however, a tad dry. Maybe that's what all the salsa, guacamole, and sour cream was for. Oh well, moving on. I decided to try everything on the table, so naturally I moved next to their signature item-the burrito. I went with half of a Fiesta Fajita Burrito with beef. Sofrito rice, pinto beans, red bell and poblano peppers blanketed in with spiced ground beef-so good. In fact, so good I ate the other half. Barely able to stand, I return to our personal buffet and assess the remaining selections. There it is! Tres Quesos-the three cheese quesadilla-that icon of mexican food for kids worldwide! (Bright lights, angels singing, minions falling to their knees.) What can I say? It was very good. The tortilla was crispy and flaky while at the same time softened from the oils in the cheeses. Which, by the way, was portioned just right. Flowing out and full yet not not too much. Huge too. Just the way a parent, err kid, likes them. Finally the salsa and chips. The salsa was better than supermarket, but not as interesting as say, Armando's. This is a different kind of place, and this meal was catered. I don't know how the store version would compare. That said, I would expect the salsa to have been made the day before, letting the flavors really meld. Not so much. The cilantro was front and center, but there was only a hint of garlic and chilies. The chips tasted bagged. Again, this was catered. Not sure I would have been frying chips fresh at 9 AM. That's just me. Overall my belly was very happy. Bravo Burrito Mundo!

Was very exited to try this place but unfortunately left a bit disappointed. Had some tacos that were just okay. The first girl that took my order seemed less then thrilled to be talking to me which turned me off. But later on I asked for more salsa from another young lady that was nothing but lovely. Maybe Ill try this place again

Not a bad burrito. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan but I saw this place on Yelp and thought I would try it out. The employees there were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about "gluten free" items. I suggest if you are experimenting with Burrito Mundo then try the Maiz Burrito with chicken, can't miss.

It is not traditional mexican, but it is very good! Fresh ingredients and good flavor. Not badly priced. They also deliver which is nice! The eating area is small and they are popular. Getting a table is sometimes hard, but alot of times we get it to go or have it delivered.

Burrito Mundo. How I love thee, let me count the ways! 1. Selection. Burrito Mundo has an excellent selection of delicious, fresh ingredients. I always pick the build-it 5, and have difficult decisions to make. As a vegan i get two "meat" options in either grilled vegetables or marinated tofu, and generally pick the latter because now that moe's has escaped the area, its the only place with such an option, and it tastes damn good here. Several fillings including potatoes, rice, two types of beans, and a host of fillins you wont find at other places (i think at least 8 meat choices, and more than 20 fillings). Several different salsas (they seem quite conservative in their heat ratings though, but i prefer flavor from salsas rather than heat). The best part of this is that i never get the same burrito twice, and at other places like chipotle, or qdoba, i almost always get the same thing there due to limited fillings. Dont get me wrong, i love chippies, but I often find excuses to drive the extra 20 mins to get out to BM whenever i can. 2. Service. The servers are different from what youd find at other chains, but i like different. I like having random conversations about just about anything, and thats what i get. Free chips and salsa if you dine in, because paying like 2 bones at chipotle for a bag of chips and some salsa is a pain in the ass. 3. Speed. Not quite as quick as Chipotle etc, but with the diversity of ingredients, and the freshness, its well worth a little wait. 4. Flavor. Sure, i have had a burrito here i did not think was amazing, but it was due to my own choices. the ingredients by themselves are good, although the rice could use a little improvement i feel. Saw a review saying it was too salty, i dont think i have ever myself noticed too much saltiness on a BM burrito, but maybe the flavor party in my mouth drowned out that noise. Be sure to check several toppings out here. you will want to mix up binding agents and wet ingredients, etc. My personal favorite combination is rice, black beans, potatoes, cilanto, fajita peppers, guacamole, tofu, with a medium salsa. My two complaints about mundo is that its rather small and hard to tetris people around when its busy, and that its 25 minutes from my house (burrito mundo, partridge creek edition anyone??)

good lunch food ( no mexican town though)but as I was sitting at the snack bar shortly after opening I saw mice poop right by my napkin. I was grossed out. I didnt finish my meal and just left. I thought of the tortillas that are usually out that the mice must eat at night.

Burrito Mundo is a welcome addition to the east side. If you have been to Lunch Box Deli, it is owned by the same folks, you will have a good idea of what to expect. It is higher quality than your typical carry-out burrito joint. I have only had the burritos and they are fantastic. Vegetarians are usually relegated to ordering a bean and cheese at most places, but here you can get any of the burritos with grilled vegetables or tofu. I keep a running list of the top 5 burritos i've had all time and the Veggie Mundo is second behind the BTB (formerly big ten burrito) Veggie Deluxe.

I LOVE Burrito Mundo! I am a very picky eater and often have trouble ordering burritos out at restaurants. Not at the Mundo. They have a great menu and a wonderful build your own burrito option. I can get whatever I want every time. The portion sizes are huge and the prices are great!

We're from California and were happy to pop in and sample some burritos and get our fix of much-missed guacamole. While it's not traditional mexican cuisine, think Chipotle with a cozy homemade vibe. We've tried the Pinata burrito with grilled chicken, the Maiz with pulled pork and of course, the guacamole and chips. All delicious and perfect for when you're starving and want something relatively quickly and definitely satisfying. Be prepared for a super-tiny interior but the colorful decor is charming. Quick tip: Sign up on their email list for coupons and get a punch card too. They were out of them the last time we went but it's worth seeking out if you plan on being regulars like we are.

I was excited to try this place and what a disappointment. The staff was friendly but a bit unorganized ( it happens, no prob ). I hate to say it but For Mexican food, this place sucks. The menu and descriptions were promising and I was super hopeful but when the moment of truth arrived, I felt I was in a bad dream and I wanted to wake up. Everything fell flat, el blando. The Machete salad looked and sounded great but was no good and the chili lime dressing was a disaster. The burrito was huge but absolutely had no flavor, the pork tacos were the same, no flavor. The beef tacos were acceptably average . I was really rooting for this place but when you're serving up bland Mexican food; it's unforgivable. I have been all over the place and can honestly say that whoever is in charge needs to really address their flavor profile. It's bad when taco bell is a welcomed option. Don't mean to rag on the place but they need to step it up a few notches.

My husband and I moved to Michigan two years ago from Oklahoma. We have had a hard time adjusting to the lack of decent Mexican food. This is one of the ok places we have found and frequent fairly often. A little over priced but they make most things fresh and have a good variety of salsa.

This is the best burrito joint in the area! We always get the piñata burrito! It is small place so it can get slow - so we just do take out. I also recommend the queso!!

Delectable. Fresh & whole ingredients that hit the spot. Any version of their fish tacos are amazing. The homemade soft corn shell is what will have you craving The Mundo.

The staff is very friendly, and the burritos are excellent. Huge portion sizes of delicious ingredients wrapped into a warm tortilla melting all the ingredients into a warm cohesive flavor. Don't come in expecting traditional Mexican cuisine.

  • Will B.

The food is good, but the owner is not organized and doesn't discipline his employees. He's sort of hippyish, and makes excuses for his people, even when they blatantly screw up. They frequently get their food orders wrong, and they are about as disorganized as they could be. The employees goof off, aren't attentive, and a spend significant amount of time conversing with one another, at the expense of the customer. However, I can't complain about the quality or taste of their food. If you expect authentic mexican, you'll be disappointed, but if you are looking for great tasting, quality ingredients in a burrito shell, you'll be extremely happy.

The food is great here.!! The California burrito is original and delicious. On the other hand, there is something about the staff that makes me feel that they don't want to be there. They need more variety in their beverages and should replace the soda machine that was lost in the fire. Way better than Chipotle!

Let's start with the bottom line: I recommend Burrito Mundo. We placed our order on-line and it was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Excellent! No wait at all. The Machete Salad is full of flavor and is a generous portion. The Southwest Ranch dressing has a bit of a kick. I toned it down with a little sour cream since I'm a wimp when it comes to flavor heat. Looking forward to trying the chili lime vinaigrette next time...there will be a next time. We also had the three pack of Gringo Tacos and a Build It Yourself Burritto. Good flavors with quality ingredients. A copy of their takeout menu is in my car for easy ordering on my way home after those long workdays.

Foods not bad for what it is. Basically like a smaller chain version of chipotle or Qdoba. Cooks don't seem to be too bright here after witnessing their interaction with the front end workers. Not a bad spot to pick up a quick burrito or taco. Last visit they were a little busy so it took longer than normal to get my food. Glad to see they're now offering the ability to pre-order online. I will give this option a go next time for sure.

I've been craving Mexican food like crazy and decided to visit burrito Mundo after reading all the reviews. Unfortunately, I still have my craving cause this place wasn't that good. It's a small place with about three tables and window seating. There's a renfriagtor with a bunch of drink for sale on the side. Chips heating in the corner and a big ole sign asking people not to be on their phone while ordering. That made me laugh. Ended up getting the California burrito, fish taco, and rice on the side. If you dine in you get a side of chips and salsa for free. Like others, the wait time was pretty long. Luckily we got the window seat so I amused my self by people watching. I got the corn salsa for my chips. The salsa was interesting but wasn't to spectacular. The same with the chips. It seems that it was store bought and thrown under the heat lamp. The fish taco was interesting. The tortilla was thick and it seems like it was a couple of them put together and flattened with a hammer. Probably why I heard so much pounding. The taco was meh. It had a really strong fish odor with lots of liquid dripping from it. The California burrito .....had way to much mayo sauce. Like the fish taco, there was so much liquid dripping from it. The Burrito had lettuce, avocado , chicken and salsa. The burrito would have been better if it wasn't for the huge amount of sauce. The Mexican rice. Don't get it. It was overcooked, bland, and just seemed old. Overall I would not be visiting this spot again.

I'm always happy here. Even when i dont like something i still acknowledge that its good, just not my taste. Everything is fresh too. Even the lettuce is crunchy. Good stuff.

I've been to BM numerous times since my last review in December 2014, and it just keeps getting better and better. Just yesterday I made my own burrito with pulled chicken, pickled jalapenos, corn salsa, roasted potatoes, rice, lettuce, cilantro, sour cream and red onions -- less than $7. You just get so much food here at a much better price than you would from Qdoba or Chipotle, and it's not an unbearable wait -- even on the weekend. The best part is that it's not only filling, but all the ingredients are bad for you and it's a great alternative to other bigger-calorie items in the area.

Fantastic Fajita Shrimp burrito- with a side of attitude! I called in a lunch order and had a great ordering experience with a guy over the phone. Upon arrival this cranky older woman checked me out- and had a really bad attitude. She was short, unkind and kind of snapped at me when I asked if they were affiliated with another mexican restaurant (to which they had referenced on a sticker on their countertop). The Fajita Shrimp burrito was fantastic, though. Really fresh & generous amount of shrimp, with a perfect balance of veggies, beans and delicious sauce. It was a bummer the woman who helped me didn't even include any napkins in the bag.. they were needed! I'll surely brave the storm of 'tude to score another one.

As I wait for my food, I fear that I may end up like the old guy in Shawshank Redemption, and won't recognize the world when I walk through the exit. I have never waited so long that I questioned my love for Mexican cuisine or the Mexican culture in whole. I forget what food tastes like. Superb and bountiful burritos though.

I am upset with my visit. My mother and I placed a carry and waited quite a while. Waiting wasn't a big deal considering it was rather busy and I have experience in the food industry. I also witnessed other customers having issues with their orders as well. So after about 15 minutes we went home. I ordered two soft tacos and got one hard taco to try. I got only one soft taco and two hard, which isn't a huge deal, but after the long wait, it would have been nice to get what I ordered. I also ordered a side of rice and the rice was completely over cooked, to the point I couldn't even eat it because it was crunchy. I am not a picky eater, but the rice was gross. We had a bad experience today and are rather disappointed. I've posted a picture to show how bad the rice looked. It's ridiculous that someone would serve that.

Awesome cheap burritos. Mostly take out, but they have a small dining area. Food is very fresh and they use quality ingredients. Limited selection of soft drinks available in a cooler.

Visited yesterday and order guac and chips and a grilled chicken Maiz burrito. The recently transplanted, west coast girl in me was skeptical of a suburban burrito shop, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The guac was fresh and flavorful and the burrito was wrapped for the gods--I mean I've never had a burrito wrapped that well. (Its contents were delicious as well lol) Very comparable to a Chipotle, but slightly more affordable. I'll def be back!

Placed a order to go ...Fish Tacos,Burrito,Guacamole...when I got home while eating the tacos bit into hard piece of plastic cut the inside of my mouth... I called and asked for the Mgr ...Not available...the Girl on the phone didn't ask for my name...Will never go back...also while I was there saw 3 orders returned... Very disorganized

What: Tiny footprint of a joint on the sleepy-tucked away part of Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, serving Mexican-inspired grub. Recently redesigned menus and ordering experience (swipe your card on the iPad Square module, sign your name with your fingertip, and text or email your receipt to yourself) is brilliant. Two words: fish tacos. Expect a wait on the order as the chef prepares food fresh and to order! Where: Minutes away on a stroll from St. John Hospital & Medical Center. How: Call aheads are appreciated for those to-go orders. Dine-in? Sit along the windowed countertop with a 100 calorie Grapefruit Mash from the nearby cooler during the food prep wait. When: New hours! Open from 11a til 9p Mon-Sa. Sun 12p-7p. Best time of day is before or after the 5p hunger pang rush. Must: As mentioned above, two words: FISH TACOS. The best fish tacos around. Order the Santa Fe Fish Tacos with a side of hot salsa for dipping. Equally impressive are the Chili Lime Jicama Shrimp Tacos. Burrito mood? Big as your head. #RajivRecommends100% #DetroitCity #FoodReview

Kind of disappointed. Wasn't as good as I hoped I would be. This place doesn't compare to chipotle.

This place food-wise is 4-stars, but I'm giving this place 3-stars because I have never waited longer at any restaurant. I called in a small order my first time here, and they told me to come in 35 minutes! I got there and waited an additional 15 minutes! I'm waiting for my order right now, and theres no other orders besides mine here, yet they're taking 30+ minutes to make my order! C'mon you can't run a restaurant on that amount of time to make an order! Nevertheless, tacos are tasty. Good local half authentic place I can visit when I'm hungry for lunch.

Coming from a college town, fast casual Mexican places were always my go to. Walking into Burrito Mundo was a very welcoming change. The workers were very kind with me, especially since they noticed I was a first timer. I bought the California Chicken in a bowl and it was phenomenal. Chicken was on point and the sauces were very flavorful and delicious. Their prices are very fair and I loved all their customization options you can choose from. Overall a very good experience, definitely would come back

Excellent food. I love the ancho BBQ burrito with the queso. They always have the food ready before the time quoted. The food is consistently good.

Wow, totally surprised how good this was. Looking for some different Mexican Yelp led me to BMundo. Huge burritos stuffed with meat not fillers like rice or lettuce. Salsas that have taste, they have over 10 available, unlike other area places where it tastes like watered down ketchup( not naming names but El Charro, oops I guess I did). The quesadilla was loaded with steak and cheese and more than I could eat. All orders come with chips and choice of salsa(s). Everyone was super friendly and offered different salsas for us to try.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Ordered online, which was pretty easy except it kept not allowing me to put my info in on my phone, so I had to go to my computer which was fine. I even got a very nice discount, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Parking was readily available but may be busier during the week since they are in a plaza with other businesses. Service was great, I was acknowledged even though the girl was finishing up with an order ahead of me. My food was ready when I got there and I was on my way. Food was delicious! The chips and queso was a bit disappointing due to the size. They should let you know how much queso you get, a small is a 3/4 oz cup, but it was spicy and very tasty none the less. I wasn't too impressed with the salsas though. Tried 4 and only cared for the pico, which was on point! I'd go back, there are so many options and its fresh, which I like.

This place is way better than Chipolte. I always build my own burrito when I come here and it always comes out perfect.

I gave this place a shot because I was sick of going out of my way to Chipotle. I've had the Plain Juan two nights in a row and I'll probably go there tomorrow. It's the best burrito I've had. Way to go

The best fish taco I've had. It was served on a delicious corn (maize) tortilla with fresh ingredients ...tomatoes, cilantro etc. The guacamole was great also as was the other food. Such a charming place. Not expensive at all either. Love the fact it is a small independent business too.

This place has delicious food. The machete salad, maize burrito, and key lime shrimp tacos are some favorites. If you are vegetarian, you can get grilled tofu on any dish and it tastes great. Love this place!

A hidden jewel in Grosse Pointe. Their braised pork taco's are astonishingly immaculate, I've honestly never tasted anything comparable. Dining at Chipotle or Qdoba is very difficult after eating at Burrito Mundo. It's more than worth the 20+ minute drive from Royal Oak. Amazing salsa's and free chips! I've had a few orders mixed up and I agree about the lack of interior space but it's a small price to pay for possibly the best burrito place in Metro Detroit.

Visiting from out of town my brother suggested the place. Burrito Mundo puts out a nice flavorful product. Service was quick and pleasant. If I lived around here I think burrito Mondo would become a regular stop as an alternative to pizza night.

Locally owned version of Chipolte. Delicious. Eight types of salsa. Music is alternative rock. They carry Jarritos which is a Mexican soda. Happy staff. Hippy staff too. Cool place.

Thanks to my new Android phone and my fellow Yelpers, I had the good fortune to happen upon this place for a quick bite between a dentist appointment and a rehearsal. At first glance, Burrito Mundo appears similar to a Qdoba or Baja Fresh gone small. A closer look reveals a more original take on the burrito. My veggie mundo, for instance, had black beans, guacamole - and potatoes. Many dishes had special ingredients like cabbage or goat cheese. There were jicama salads and coconut desserts. The prep, too, was not the standard assembly line slap job. My burrito was well folded and stay closed in transit. All in all, it was a fine fast, but not too fast, food experience.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
